Promoting Your Own Work Is an Act of Generosity

A person handing another a heart-shaped piece of paper.

Too many people operate under the assumption that promoting your own work is selfish, spammy, something you should avoid, something to apologize for.

Far from it. It’s actually generous.

If you spent your time and effort to create something of value, something you believe in, say openly, honestly, proudly: “Here, I made this. It’s for you.”

If your work can help someone in any capacity, it is selfish not to share it.

PS. Hat-tip to Josh Spector for the generous insight.
