What When You Break a Streak
Regardless of how long you kept a streak (be it two days or two years), you have two options when you break it.
Either you completely abandon your progress and start wallowing in self-pity that you failed.
Or you start again the next day with the understanding that you’re not starting from scratch but exactly where you left off.
Streaks are tools that can help you build (better) habits, but there is no prewritten agreement that you should adhere to concepts that aren’t serving you.
When you break the streak, shrug it off and start the next day again; you can even pretend you didn’t break it. Much better than not continuing your journey at all.
