Should You Prepare for Incidents?

Two bolts of lightning simultaneously striking a forest during nighttime.

Sooner or later, whether in your personal or professional life, an incident will occur.

Your car will break down, electricity will go out, a critical bug will appear, and you’ll be forced to use all your resources to resolve it. Exactly as you should.

But should you plan for it in advance?

Should you buy an extra car, an alternative power source, and an additional programming team to build alternative backup systems?

Unlikely. (Unless, of course, people’s lives literally depend on your work.)

Life eventually throws you a curveball. But don’t alter your behavior in a way that complicates your every day just because something unexpected might or might not happen in the future. You’ll deal with it in due time anyway.
