Emotional Reading

In written communication, especially on social media, a lot of nuance, particularly related to emotion, can be lost or not conveyed adequately.

That’s why we often read comments through the lens of our current emotional state. When we’re angry, an unclear advice we receive sounds mean, and when we’re thrilled the same message might seem confusing but benevolent.

What if we decide to accept all comments and notes as constructive? What if we stop looking at the messages through our emotional lens and instead view them as positive and helpful?

How would this change our experience for the better?
