A Good Reference Point

A person in contemplation looking at distant mountains.

Your only reference point should be you.

It doesn’t really matter what others are doing, where they currently are, or how they got there. What matters is where you currently are and how this relates to where you were yesterday.

Move a step forward regularly, patiently, consistently.

Others might be a thousand steps ahead, but that shouldn’t concern you. They might have started from a different point. They might be at a different stage of their journey or on a different journey altogether. It’s pointless to compare yourself with them.

Your reference point should always be you. Where you were yesterday, and what your next step will be.
