Your Work Is for You

Your work shouldn’t be about you, but it should most definitively be for you.

You should get something out of it. Be it knowledge, connection, or financial gain, the work you do has to serve you somehow.

Worth noting, you can only do the work you care about. You can only write about something you know, build something you can be proud of. Anything else won’t stick; you won’t have the patience or willpower to pursue it when times get rough or when the circumstances won’t be right.

Don’t make it about you, but most definitively, make it for you.
