The Need to Express Oneself
People often think that everything they say (or write or do) has already been said (or written or done).
The problem is that this type of thinking is mostly used as an excuse:
“Why should I write this article? This has already been said.”
“Why should I share my opinion? People already shared theirs.”
“Why should I explain this technique? It has already been explained.”
It’s incredibly easy to believe these excuses and it’s incredibly important to ignore them. What you want to say has either already been said, in which case it’s probably worth repeating, or it hasn’t been said, in which case it needs to be said.
Don’t think about it, don’t contemplate it, don’t plan and don’t evaluate anything. Express yourself. The world needs your insight now.
