On Exaggerating

We all like to exaggerate. And particularly on the negative side of things.

“The things will never work out.”

“If that project doesn’t succeed, I’ll be fired.”

“This could never be improved or even fixed.”

“I can’t start this; I don’t have enough experience.”

It’s just your mind playing tricks on you. It’s much easier to stay in your comfort zone than try something new that might not be an absolute success.

Of course, there’s a chance that it won’t work, but it certainly won’t be as bad as you fear.
