A Lack of Speed Might Not Always Be a Problem

A tortoise on the sand.

Just because you don’t see a problem doesn’t mean that there is no problem. And just because you see a problem doesn’t mean that there really is a problem.

Problems are in the eye of the beholder, most often subjective.

I might perceive slow software as a problem, but someone else might not mind it at all. I might perceive a lack of a feature deal-breaking, but someone else won’t care at all.

But that’s precisely the point. Find your own audience and serve them. Serve people who perceive your lack of features as focus and your lack of speed as thoughtfulness.

PS. Lack of speed (slow software in particular) is almost always a problem for almost everybody.
